Top Five Reasons to Go Solar

With rising energy costs, how much better would our lives be if all the energy we need comes with nothing but savings and a promise of cleaner and greener environment? From tapping earth’s geothermal power to capturing the sun’s radiant energy, there’s just so many ways to turn our backs on the rather unreliable and dirty fossil fuels.

But when it comes to cheaper and more attainable renewable resources for your individual property, solar power is perhaps the most feasible of all. We've gathered the best reasons why solar energy is gold in today’s hunger for more electricity.

It’s All Free For You

The sun shines 24/7 and its radiant heat is simply there, waiting to be used and converted to electricity with just the right materials and technology. Years ago, however, tapping into this energy source was way expensive that with today’s methods. Silicon, which makes up most of the photovoltaic (PV) cells, was costly to process. But fortunately, recent technologies have made it easier and more affordable to create the panels. Thus, now is the best time to invest in solar power to take advantage of the earliest returns.

Zero Emissions, Lesser Carbon Footprint

It doesn't take much energy to harvest and process silicon into PV cells. Thanks again to advanced techniques that make sure the energy output of the these solar power system -- given that they function as they should for 20-25 years -- far outweighs the energy needed to produce these pieces of hardware. Solar panels, when operational, are merely static installations that give off zero carbon dioxide, thus helping you contribute to a healthier environment.

The Sun Is Here To Stay

Need we state the obvious? Yes, indeed. Scientists estimate the sun to keep its shining glory for another 5 billion years. That’s countless number of lifetimes and generations down the line. Unless we find a more efficient source of renewable energy, let’s set our eyes on what’s readily available for us, not to mention taking pride of what we do: taking care of our habitat.

Get Paid By Giving More

In Australia, switching to solar panels could mean feed-in tariffs for you. If for example, your solar power system produces more electricity than what you are currently consuming (especially during short vacations or when there are less appliance users at home at any given time), that extra power goes directly to the main grid and is bought by the government at a certain price per kWh. That could greatly offset your electricity bill especially when you’re using more appliances at night, when you’re dependent on the grid (as in grid-connect systems).

Boost Your Property Sales With Solar Power Systems

Because solar power and hot water systems guarantee financial savings that would have otherwise been spent for energy consumption, property buyers would pay more for homes that already have these systems installed. Estimates show that with these add-ons, you could see a 20 to 30 percent increase in your property’s value. Of course, your image of being a responsible homeowner readily gives the impression that your home or commercial space has been well managed under your care.

Obviously, all these benefits will make your move to choose solar power a winning decision. All you need to do to make a sound investment is choosing the right solar power installers to do the job for your. If you’re located within the state of Victoria, call only the most reliable solar in East Gippsland for all your energy and hot water needs.

It’s never too late to free yourself from those rising electricity bills. It’s never too late to help save the environment for the future.

Era of Unlimited and Almost Free Clean Energy is Almost Here

The possibility of the existence of cellular phones and other gadgets 35 years ago sere disbelieving due to the many factors that needs to be considered in order for them to function like power source and the signal coverage were almost impossible to put to action. But now that we are in the exigency of highly technological era, who can tell that cell-phones, tablets, laptop, Ipad and many more hi-tech gadgets were once deemed impossible.

Almost all people around the globe use mobile phone for ease of communication and not only that there are more and more applications being developed for more of life’s convenience. It’s the same thing with solar energy. It is believed that solar power is almost unworkable. With further development on how to cut the cost for the installation of this system, it will be everywhere like cellular phones.

Researchers have been discovering ways and techniques on how to create inexpensive renewable source. This will surely make people embrace the economical value of using solar energy. Power usage keeps on elevating in all household anywhere. So every homeowner would want to cut cost on power bill and the best absolute solution is the energy that comes from the sun which could become an unlimited source of power for everyone everywhere.

Currently, some countries like Germany, Australia, Portugal and the Southwest part of the US have been successful to produce electricity from solar power systems. People from this part of the world have anticipated the less cost of solar power installation than buying from electric companies. It has been concluded that 5 years from now the cost of solar energy will be competitive enough compared to the price of commercial power. Solar production is moving ahead hastily and it is unstoppable because researchers and scientists don’t stop seeking for answers until every household are using almost free and clean energy. And this era is coming close at every doorstep, it’s clear and it’s going to happen.

Solar Power Became Mandatory in an Indian State

The remarkable benefits of the implementation of solar power systems have been globally widespread. The full potential of shifting to this kind of power source has been visible to any part of the world.

Solar Power Became Mandatory in an Indian State
Like in India which has an intense population and is greatly exposed to the sun which made the country highly capable to effectively produce solar power. Due to this aspect, the Indian government unveiled a high cost budget in July 2009 which is set to produce a 20GW of solar power by the year 2020.

Connected to this visualization, the government of Haryana, a state in North India announced the compulsory use of solar powered equipment and application on all establishments eating up 418sqm or more. This means that property owners must be able to work on their own rooftop solar power installation in order to comply with the said requirement.

A minimum of 1KW of solar panel has become the policy for residential buildings while on the other hand commercial buildings are required to put up a 5KW solar panel whereas Government buildings and government run educational institutions with a connected load of 30kW or more must install 2kW. Hospitals, nursing homes, factories, businesses, accommodation facilities and tourism complexes are required to install a minimum of 10KW solar power system.  Those facilities that weren’t able to meet with the said solar requirements will surely be facing penalties.
India’s solar industry implemented this course of action in order for people to experience a clean and almost free energy. Knowing that their country has a high solar insulation, the era of almost free energy is never impossible. Supported by the countries government leader, they have set their solar energy targets to a higher level which is to create solar energy capacity of 100,000MW in 7 years.  The r Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is greatly focused and determined to work and get investors for his country’s solar upheaval.

Fraunhofer’s R&D project plug and Play Solar Panels

Fraunhofer’s R&D project plug and Play Solar Panels

The US Department of Energy funded a research and development project which goal is to develop technology solutions and solar information that will lessen the amount of running a residential solar PV system. Installation of solar photovoltaic systems is accompanied with a lot of non-hardware components expenses such as government permits, inspection and interconnection.
Currently, these expenses account for a significant part of the total cost of installing residential solar PV systems.  These extra expenses serve as a serious obstruction to a wider acceptance and employment of solar power in the United States.

A research firm based in Boston, MA, is now performing a 5-year research and Development, The Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems is focusing its R&D to develop plug and play solar photovoltaic systems. When deemed successful, this will allow consumers to acquire, set up and connect solar PV systems in their own homes or even companies and offices without the need to pay contractors and consultants.
Solar news break out early this year informing that Fraunhofer, together with the NC State were awarded with DOE grants to push and pursue the main goal of this project. CSE (Fraunhofer), according to these solar news got $11.7 million for the program that started in February.
The prime purpose of this R&D project is to create a cost effective and less complex PV system that the average homeowner can install in his rooftop. Based on solar information accepted in the industry, the installed cost of a PV system should preferably be less than $1.50 per watt.
Fraunhofer CSE works as a laboratory that permits larger corporation to formulate questions and perform the initial experiments without spending too much. CSE is now digging deeper at all the cost components mixed up in the hardware factor to make each component, especially the solar panels, easier and safer to install. Kinsey also mentioned that their two major areas of concentration are reducing the need for roof penetrations, and shortening the weight of modules to reduce the need for permitting.
The main idea is to keep them connected securely and make sure that they would run in plug-in-play function to diminish the installation cost. By so doing, the last inhibitors are gone and the hindrance has been reduced way down.
One big question is that “How can an average home owner managed to keep up the solar panel system in their roof without spending too much? The best recommendation there is to make modules lighter and drop down the amount needed for permitting and inspection. This action will definitely make the system affordable and function more effectively.
Fraunhofer CSE has some achievement in this field. They have already developed a module that would stick to smooth and flat commercial roofing since 2008 by Lumeta, one of the plug-and-play collaborators. Nevertheless, it is way too discouraging to stick on solar module to a slanted residential roof with typical shingles made with asphalt and aggregate. Despite the consequences, Fraunhofer should pursue its endeavor to develop easier to install and cost effective solar panels so that individuals can afford to run and install a residential solar PV systems.
